Sol Campbell is Now in talks to become the Director of Southend United, Sky Sports News understands.
Campbell was without a club since leaving Sky Bet League Two side Macclesfield Town by mutual approval in August.
Southend happen to be looking for a new director since Kevin Bond in September’s resignation.
Sky Sports News shown earlier this month that Campbell had been interviewed for the vacant function in Roots Hall.
Southend confirmed last week that a deal had broken down following Tommy Johnson’s withdrawal in your backroom team that was projected.
The Shrimpers are second from bottom of League One with just five points out of 13 games.
