Miami Marlins at Atlanta Braves MLB Pick – August 22nd

The wins just keep on coming, as we are formally again. Last night’s winner was our sixth win in our eight bets, a sexy 75 percent -speed weekly. And they did make us work for it as we backed the Washington Nationals at a very attractive +103, last night, and the game was a blowout. The Nationals are directing the National League in runs and I asked them to hammer Pirates newcomer Joe Musgrove, and that is just what occurred.
Washington scored six runs Musgrove at the third inning to jump out to a commanding lead, and the rest of the way outside coasted. The Nats played and from the time this match was all done and said, Washington walked away with the 11-1 victory, and our pet cash ticket was cashed by us. Washington has now scored double-digit runs.
I really don’t know where this creation has been hiding at all year long, but this team is hitting the ball better than every other team in the league. The Nats maintained pace with the Atlanta Braves who stay six games back at the National League East Division to first place and also won yesterday. For the choice of today, we’ll check in on these Braves, in which the Braves host the Marlins, as we visit Atlanta.
The Miami Marlins are in Atlanta Thursday attempting to avoid the sweep in game three of a three-game with the Braves. This series has not been competitive to this point because the Braves took the first games both . For Miami, as their production has fallen off here in August, they are only begging for the entire year to end at this stage. Miami is a significant league-worst 3-15 within their past eighteen games.
For Atlanta, the Braves are expecting to complete the sweep because the Washington Nationals are hot on their heels at the NL East Division. The Braves have been among the greatest clubs in the league and have won seven out of their past nine matches, such as string wins on the Mets and Dodgers.
Beginning tonight for the Braves is Mike Soroka (10-2 2.41 ERA), also for the Marlins it’s Sandy Alcantara (4-11 4.35 ERA). The game is set at nine and a half of runs. The Braves are large dwelling favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 4:20 PM PST in SunTrust Park at Atlanta.
Mike Soroka has been an invaluable addition for the Braves starting rotation this year. After a cup of java using the big-league group this past year, making five starts, he’s been a full-time part of the rotation this year and has produced some results that are stellar. His 2.41 ERA is good for second in the majors, supporting just Hyun-jin Ryu, and ahead of men like Max Scherzer, Clayton Kershaw, and Jacob deGrom.
At years past, Soroka is just another in a long line of young, and good players at Atlanta. The kid has had only one choice since April 18th! Along with when he is still on the mound the Braves only seem to triumph. Atlanta is this season 15-7 if Soroka begins.
Against Miami this season, he has been unbelievably good in 3 starts. Soroka has allowed just one earned run and tossed a joint twenty-two innings , never throwing fewer than seven innings in any one start. His ERA in those three starts? 0.41, the lowest against any team he has faced this season.
Sandy Alcantara is much better than his 4-11 record may lead you to believe. Wins can be difficult to find when you play for the team in the team, however Alcantara has done a hard job of throwing nicely anyway. He has pitched really well here in August and made his first, of what ought to be many, All-Star teams earlier this year.
Last month, Alcantara has an ERA of simply 3.20 in 3 starts. That includes a powerful outing against these very same Atlanta Braves where he worked into the eighth inning, giving up three runs and pitching seven and two thirds, a few weeks back. He has made a high excellent beginning, three runs or more, six innings or not , in four out of his last five games. Together with the one hiccup which might have the best lineup in all baseball.
This amount is way too large to actually consider taking Atlanta. We watched the Detroit Tigers win a match against the Houston Astros where the Astros were setting a totally ridiculous -500, so big upsets can happen, but I do not see lightning striking twice here today. And I believe that this Marlins lineup will not have anything for Mike Soroka.
Soroka has possessed them all season long, and I hope only the identical tonight. You can pencil him in now for function or seven-plus innings. When I look at Sandy Alcantara, ” I think he’s going to get a way to be decent also. He won’t close the Braves down, not many folks do, but that I still don’t see him becoming blasted.
Thus, when I look at the game total, I see value on the below two and a half runs. If a lot of those teams doesn’t score, It’s very tough for a match to hit double-digits. And the Marlins just aren’t likely to put runs over the board tonight. The issue is, will Alcantara be good enough to have beaten but not ruined? And I believe that answer is yes.
We saw two weeks ago once Alcantara pitched well against the Braves he can deal with their firepower, along with with the Braves as prohibitive favorites to win the game, they should have a wholesome lead late, and won’t get to bat in the bottom of the ninth. Small details such as the fact that the Braves will only get eight innings and push this game to the above, need to be evaluated.
I see Atlanta winning going away and taking an early lead. Something in the array of 5-1 Atlanta sounds about perfect. Give me the below eight and in game three runs from SunTrust Park!
