Galway’s next football manager: Contenders to replace Kevin Walsh

An intriguing vacancy has been made by the death as manager of the Galway footballers of kevin Walsh, with no shortage of big names.
With all the county’s minors hitting All-Ireland Founded in the previous two decades, the U21 and U20 sides picking up Connacht names in 2017 and 2019 respectively, and Corofin winning three of their previous five All-Ireland club titles, there are clearly promising signs from the west.
Galway boss Walsh measures down
As they hunt their first All-Ireland name, who can Galway GAA flip to?
A winner for a participant, Joyce is still a legend over the continent. Having moved taking over the county side this season, he led them using a provincial final win over Mayo.
He commands respect in the county, and may prove a popular option.
Rochford is a selector using the ticket ratified for one more year at the Ulster County, beneath Declan Bonner at Donegal. Could the Crossmolina person be enticed with a return into a role later working as a trainer in T??r Chonaill?
Before leaving to shoot Mayo rochford is well regarded after leading Corofin into an All-Ireland name. There, he directed them to back All-Ireland titles and within a whisker of overcoming Dublin in 2017 and 2016.
With some fans and pundits desiring to see that the Tribesmen employ a more assaulting game-plan, Rochford can shake up the side.
His managerial expertise has been assembled by another All-Ireland winning player with all the western country, Divilly at third level. Having led UCD he certainly has qualifications in a degree that is high.
Along with Joyce, Divilly has been believed to be one of the ancient front-runners for its function.
A selector beneath Rochford at Corofin for the 2015 victory , O’Brien subsequently took control to direct the side-by-side names in 2019 and 2018. They’ve done so in some style, making their very best football at Croke Park, beating Dr Crokes and Nemo Rangers by a combined 27 points.
Soccer circles may be appealed to by the style where Corofin have gone on their business.
Cunningham would be an outside bet to land the task, but has the experience. The former Tribe hurling manager took over the Roscommon footballers this past year, and attracted immediate success with a Connacht name and a respectable 8s showing.
Cunningham could possibly become one of the couple to handle a county in the football and hurling, together using both Pat Gilroy and Se??n Boylan being additional cases, although it’s not unprecedented.
